Design a Dragon Competition

Wednesday, 25 May 2016

I am launching an exciting new competition this week in the library it is to design, colour and describe a dragon. Let your imagination run wild and create a unique, scary or beautiful dragon. It could have huge scaly wings, razor sharp teeth or dagger like claws. Your design needs to be colourful to have the most impact and of course your dragon needs to have a name. There is also an area on the entry form to write a brief description as well as an area to write statistics about your dragon.
If you would like to enter collect an entry form from the library. Ensure that your name and class is written on your entry and handed to me by the closing date which is 13th June.

Certificates will be presented to every child who has entered the competition. There will be three winners who will receive a prize. Winning dragons will be entered for a national competition run by ScholasticBooks. If one of our designs is the national winner the dragon will be drawn by author and illustrator Cressida Cowell (she has written the series 'How To Train Your Dragon') the artist will also receive £200 of drawing materials and gifts.
